Butterfly Fun!

I finally worked on my lesson 2 of the class I am taking and finished the LO. I really love the main picture and think it looks great in this format.

Competitive? Who us? Nah...

Don't let that innocent look fool you!

I guess you could say we are a slightly competitive family. Pretty much anything can turn into a competition around here. Kylie is pretty darn good at Connect Four...don't understimate her or you will be going down! Just ask some of Josh's friends who have lost to her and not heard the end of it yet. It seems that if you beat her at her own game, you get a beat down of another kind...just ask Roger.

I made chocolate covered strawberries...MMM, MMM - Good!

The ice cameth!

And school is outeth! ;) Poor Kylie, she wants real snow soooo bad that she came into our room this morning at 8:30 all dressed warm looking for boots to wear. She was heading outside to try and make "ice angels"! I wish she could have at least one really fun snow day each winter here at home. I reminded her that we would be in Steamboat in a couple months and she would be able to make all the snow angels she wanted to then. She went outside and came back in tell me how she kept falling on her bootay. She is such a trooper...even with ice instead of snow she keeps her sweet happy spirit! My little Ice Angel...

The ice is here...

They have been saying all day that the ice was coming...it is here. I think the kids went to bed pretty sure they will not have school tomorrow. I guess we will see when the sun comes up. Sleep tight everyone!

Make room!

Well...I finally repurposed the wire shelves that hung on the back of the door for the VHS tapes. Since I have been painting the wood in the house, I didn't want the over the door things up anymore. I needed a new solution to storage space in the kitchen so, I checked my garage and figured it out. I used a couple of different fasteners and basically nailed it to the inside of my pantry door. It works great and was easy peasy to do! Well, off to watch the boys play ball. TTYL!

A little more sugar...

Well, I finished my page 2 of my Sweetness LO of Kylie baking cupcakes. I think I am really please with the end results. I am really enjoying this class..Jessica Sprauge really does a great job putting together her classes. They are very up to date with the new versions of software and I love the short cuts she teaches.

Am I a bad person?

I can't really say I don't care at ALL about politics. I usually have a pretty strong opinion (although not as strong as Josh's) of who I want for President. We will suffice it to say, my candidate did not win. And while I loosely pay attention to what is said by each in the "race", I rarely believe them. I think that most politicians say exactly what they think they need to say to be elected and then change their song once they are to do pretty much whatever they want. That being said, I rarely ever watch an inaguration. Does that make me a bad person or mean I don't care enough? Am I not patriotic enough? I don't think so...well at least I hope not!

I have started a new class for my digital scrapbooking at jessicasprague.com. Liz has already done this class so nothing I post will impress her, ;) but maybe some of you others will be a little impressed! Here is my first LO using some of the techniques in lesson one. I am always so impressed with her classes. She really does an awesome job! I will do a second page soon to go along with this one.

Week 3 Layout

I realized late yesterday that I had not posted this one yet...so here it is. I am not always focusing on 1 picture a day but mainly picture of things that happened that week and things that I like. I will have more journaling on some pages and less on others.

The chill is back!

I can't believe how cold it is again. It was 22 when I took the kids to school this morning. That is cold! But I guess we should still feel lucky...I know some people who live way far north and it is way far colder there. One said yesterday it was -49 with the chill factor! I wouldn't even leave the house! She is in Canada... Glad we live way far south!

I took this picture the last time the cold front hit...it came with a little ice.

Check Mate!

I may have mentioned before that Roger is teaching Kylie to play chess. Their matches can last any where from just a few moves to well over an hour long. I think she is picking it up pretty good, but most of all I think she just likes the "me" time with her daddy.

Weeks 1 & 2 2009

I have been working on the picture a day challenge also....so where is my LO.

The boys both won their games. They started out a little slow but came roaring through in the end.

All's quiet on the home front...

Things have been pretty quiet around here lately. Roger and Chris went duck hunting with Jim again this morning and I am about to take a shower and get around to go get my coach's badge for basketball. No, I am not 'really' coaching. But if Roger was to end up out of town, the boys could not play without a badged coach on the bench. I only had to fill in once last year and hopefully none this year! It interfers with me taking pictures! The first games of the season are today and the boys are both very excited about it starting. Cameron's team is the Sooners and Josh has all of his Eagles returning. They have been very successful in the league and have managed to keep almost the entire team together for several season. It has been fun watching them all learn and grow together for so long. Best of wishes for a great season this year to both of them!

I am adding a page about Kylie that completed for a challenge...I like how it turned out. It is a bulletin board, but I guess if I have to tell you that then then I failed at duplicating the look huh?

Secret Admirer...

Have you ever had a Secret Admirer? Did your admirer ever send you something to show they were thinking about you? Did it make you smile and feel special on a very ordinary unspecial day? Secret Admirer's for some of us are not so secret, but that doesn't make the surprise any less special. Everyone needs to be on the receiving end of a little public/secret admiration every now and then.

Brrrr...it's cold out there!

Well there is a winter chill in the air and in the house...my feet are freezing! Today was the day to play catch up! I went through all the mail (mostly junk) and paid some bills. It was nice to get a little catching up done.

I have been doing good at keeping up with my picture a day so far and I am trying to think of different things to take pictures of. While I def. want pics of my family included, I am also thinking about ways to tell more about our day to day lives. Another thing I have been planning is to try and put more of myself in my books. Not really more pictures of me, but more "about" me. My thought is that these books are a way that even my great great grandkids that I might not even ever meet, would be able to learn what I was all about.

I did another page this evening. It is alittle different from what I have done before...I was trying out a new technique I read about.

Dec Pic a Day

Liz challenged me to a pic a day challenge for December. I didn't quite make it so I faked it! Some of the pictures are a little off with the dates they were actually taken, but if you don't tell Liz, I won't tell Liz. What she doesn't know won't hurt her! ;)

Roger and the boys had a lot of fun hunting today. He said they leaAdd Imagerned somethings and he worked on learning some more tonight. I think it is awesome that they are out hanging out and having fun...not so awesome is me having to sit here tonight while he watches a video that teaches him to use a duck call properly! Ugh! Just shoot me!

Making time to scrap!

I haven't made much time lately to scrap, so since I got a new kit yesterday from Christine to play with I did a birthday page for Kylie.
It is quite quiet in the house this morning...the boys all went duck hunting with their dad and Uncle Jim and Kylie stayed the night a friends house last night. Well it was quiet...someone's alarm is going off upstairs. Guess I will go see if I can turn it off...it is very loud!

Hope everyone had a great new year and that your 2009 brings you joy!
