Whew!

Boy, am I relieved! I am so glad I didn't rush out and have another baby so Kylie could have a little sister!

Yesterday Little Sister's arms fell off (the tape didn't hold long) so Kylie put her in the kitchen to await uhm, surgery to replace them. This morning while cleaning, I told her that Little Sister needed to go upstairs and out of the kitchen. A thoughtful haze passed over her face and she looked at me with a shrug and said "I guess she can go outside". I stopped and asked "You mean to the trash?" Kylie replied "Yea"... So I said "Ok...then take her out". She said "You will have to do it...I can't bear to watch". LOL (which I think is her way of getting out of taking out the trash!)

So the moral to this story could be that Kylie wants a little sister as long as she doesn't have to share her room with her! LOL!!!

Catching up in 10 pictures or less...

Where have I been? Why have I left everyone hanging with no update? I would love to tell you I have a wonderful excuse...a long list of extremely important and urgent things I have been too busy with...

Well, I did go to Ada to stay with Mamaw for a few days; I did process 3 client projects over the last few days; I have been consistent in working on more photography stuff (learning, researching, marketing, processing, etc.) on top of the usual household and family stuff...is that enough? Not really...but it is all I've got.

So, I will give you a quick update on what else has been going on...

Roger had a birthday and he told Kylie he wanted a Monopoly game for his birthday...I am sure it had absolutely nothing to do with her asking for one a few weeks back. ;) (such a good Daddy...I just love em' to death!)

We had an end of season swim party for Josh's basketball team and they decided Roger needed to go swimming...

Father's Day always hits close to Roger's birthday and a lot of years he gets one of those combo gifts...this year we decided he needed a little something to help him relax. So he got a hammock for Father's Day. Here he and Kylie are checking it out while Max and Hunter look on...

Now this last part of the update is sad and funny all at the same time. As married adults, at some point in our lives we decide to start a family. The next decision is how many do we think we want... There are always lots of people more than willing to offer their personal opinions on how many kids, how far apart...etc, etc, etc. One person will say, "Oh don't have an uneven # of kids...there will always be one left out." Or whatever...the truth is no matter what you "plan" you get what you get and you don't throw a fit! lol

In our lives, poor Kylie is the odd man (girl) out. In her lifetime, she has several times expressed her wish for a baby sister. I have told her in no uncertain terms.."That ain't happening!!!" So she should just accept it and move on!

Well...I think she finally got it through her head and decided to do something on her own to fix it...

Meet Kylie's new little sister (aptly named Little Sister - original huh?). Little Sister was "created" by Kylie's own little hands (after collecting recycled supplies for awhile) with nothing more than masking tape.

Well I am glad she took care of that...cuz I sure wasn't going to appease her the way she originally wanted! Nope, no way...NOT happening!

Update on Mamaw

As some of you may know, I am in Ada helping with Mamaw. She was at home Monday evening and went to the garage to get out some hamburger meat to thaw. When it was thawed she was going to call Pat and Pat was going to make dinner for them. Pat lives next door to Mamaw so they eat together a lot.

There is a 6" step down into her garage...as she stepped off something went wrong. She said she doesn't even feel like her foot ever hit the ground. She thinks her hip broke before that. So she fell and laid on the ground for 1 1/2 hours before Pat came up and found her. Pat had tried to call about 3 times and decided something was wrong when she didn't get an answer.

They did surgery on Tuesday, adding two nails in an X formation and securing them with a screw. She doesn't like to take the pain meds because it makes her talk funny. She walked with a walker for about 10 steps forward and 10 steps back yesterday. She was more afraid to try to turn around than to walk backwards. But she doesn't like the cramps she gets so I think I finally have convinced her to stay on a schedule on it.

I stayed out there with her last night and she did pretty good. She walked to a chair today and is sitting there now.

I am at Mom's to take a shower and then I will be heading back out there. Thank you all for your continued prayers!

Playing with more pictures...

Like Liz did awhile back...I am playing with my manual camera settings. I took these day before yesterday using my manual settings, but did have to lighten them slightly in my software. (I think my screen is set too bright on my camera which affects how the pictures appears. I will adjust that and try more. But with lightroom, I adjust one picture and then sync all the other pictures from the same time to match that one. With my old software, I would have to adjust each picture separately which can be extremely time consuming when you are like me and take lots and lots of pictures!

What I love about these though is her eyes. Look at the detail in the catch lights in the first one. The second one is not quite as sharp as the first but is still pretty good.

Here are a few more of the flowers from my front flower beds that were begging for a portrait session of their very own.

Yay Chris!

Well...as some of you know Chris has been taking one of his longer classes. It has been going on for several months on M,W,F from 6:00 to 10:00. All of his classes are pass or fail...and his test was tonight. Of course, he passed. Now on to the next class!

Josh is now officially a Senior. He finished out the year with straight A's and is exempt from all of his finals. Since he is exempt...today was his last day.

Boy...I am getting old!
