In less than 2 days we will be on the road to Steamboat! The kids are getting excited...uhm, the grown ups too! We had made plans to take the bus this time because we found out there is a place to park it there. Roger went to get it out and drive it last Sunday. We have not driven it in quite sometime due to the high gas prices...and it wouldn't start. So, we don't want to take any chances on it breaking down on us. Chris is flying because he has a class on Saturday and with his classes you cannot miss one....period! If you do you have to start it over. So we were getting a luggage rack added to the Edge and were going to drive it. We took the car in to have them added and asked them to check out the passenger seat and the sun roof. The seat motor recently stopped moving forward or back...it will go up and down and tilt but that is all. And the sun roof has acted like it might not finish closing a couple of times. So they tell us the sun roof is a problem they are aware of and the short version is that we won't have the car back in time for the trip.
Roger makes sure they understand that is unacceptable!!! So, now they are trying to find us a loaner vehicle that we can take on the trip so they can keep the edge. Why can't anything be easy?

I bet you are missing the Expedition right about now...If GM goes under your might be able to pick up a Suburban real cheap
Our was the Excursion and yes..I have actually been thinking about going back to a larger vehicle, and will probably do so soon. We are not ready to be a smaller vehicle family. Roger and the guys beat up the inside of my car when they went hunting cramming their gun cases and stuff in the back. I was not happy about the black marks all over the roof inside and stuff. >:`(
Doesn't it seem that whenever you are getting ready to go on a trip... something always has to go wrong? Maybe... it's so we will appreciate when we FINALLY get to the vacation... ha ha. I don't know but I hope everything will work itself out and that you will be on your way to a fun filled time soon! :)
What a string of bad luck, or is it? It seems something is trying to prevent you from coming to Colorado. It could be bad luck, or the incredible power of Colorado Homeland Security. WE protect our borders by any means possible. Of course people from Arizona are allowed in at any time under the John McCain statute.
Bob!!! I am crushed!!! You know you want me to come see you...but I understand that you have a tough image to up hold, so we can keep that just between us. ;)
It's Murphy's Law at work again. My car took a crap before we drove from middle of Iowa to Mount Rushmore (10-12 hours if I remember correctly)...we were VERY lucky to get it back in time, to the tune of $800. Yikes. (years ago) Have a great trip!
Wow, what a mess. Maybe things will be better tomorrow. Papa Eddie apparently had a bad day. He sounded a bit blue, then I log in and read about your bad luck. Sure hope when I read more, things don't get worse.Hang in there, it will all work out.
